Providing Access to your Camera/Mic

Depending on how your test is configured, you have to provide Equip access to your camera and/or mic, the test won't load otherwise.

Follow the instructions below to provide access

We have tried to auto-detect your browser. If our auto-detection is wrong, change your browser from the dropdown.

Steps to enable Microphone

  1. Tap on the three vertical dots at the top right of your screen, next to the address bar.
  2. In the menu that opens up, tap on Settings at the bottom.
  3. In the Settings menu, tap on Site Settings.
  4. Now, tap on the Microphone option.
  5. Firstly, the Microphone option should be enabled. That is, it must look like the blue "pill" you see below. If you see the Equip site under Blocked, click on it, Else, move to Point 8.
  6. Find the Access your microphone option and click on it.
  7. Now, click on the Allow option.
  8. There is a Check Mic button below the image. Click on the button and then click on Allow when the pop-up appears.
  9. If you continue to get an error, repeat the instructions from the top. Or, try taking the test from a different device.

Steps to enable Camera

  1. Tap on the three vertical dots at the top right of your screen, next to the address bar.
  2. In the menu that opens up, tap on Settings at the bottom.
  3. In the Settings menu, tap on Site Settings.
  4. Now, tap on the Camera option.
  5. Firstly, the Camera option should be enabled. That is, it must look like the blue "pill" you see below. If you see the Equip site under Blocked, click on it, Else, move to Point 8.
  6. Find the Access your camera option and click on it.
  7. Now, click on the Allow option.
  8. There is a Check Camera button below the image. Click on the button and then click on Allow when the pop-up appears.
  9. If you continue to get an error, repeat the instructions from the top. Or, try taking the test from a different device.

Steps to enable Microphone

  1. Click on the three dots at the top right of your screen and then click on Settings.
  2. In the tab that opens up, type microphone at the top right. Then, click on Settings next to Microphone.
  3. If you see the Equip site in the list, select it and then click on Remove Website. The "Block new requests.." option must not be selected. That is, it must not have a tick next to it. Click on Save Changes.
  4. Click the Check Mic button below. When you get the prompt at the top, choose Internal Microphone in the list. Click on "Remember this decision" and then click on Allow
  5. If you continue to get an error, repeat the instructions again, or try taking the test on a different device.

Steps to enable Camera

  1. Click on the three bars at the top right of your screen and then click on Options.
  2. In the tab that opens up, type camera at the top right. Then, click on Settings next to Camera.
  3. If you see the Equip site in the list, select it and then click on Remove Website. The "Block new requests.." option must not be selected. That is, it must not have a tick next to it. Click on Save Changes.
  4. Click the Check Camera button below. When you get the prompt at the top, choose Internal Camera in the list. Click on "Remember this decision" and then click on Allow
  5. If you continue to get an error, repeat the instructions again, or try taking the test on a different device.

Steps to enable Microphone

  1. Click on the three bars at the top right of your screen and then click on Options.
  2. In the tab that opens up, type microphone at the top right. Then, click on Settings next to Microphone.
  3. If you see the Equip site in the list, select it and then click on Remove Website. The "Block new requests.." option must not be selected. That is, it must not have a tick next to it. Click on Save Changes.
  4. Click the Check Mic button below. When you get the prompt at the top, choose Internal Microphone in the list. Click on "Remember this decision" and then click on Allow
  5. If you continue to get an error, repeat the instructions again, or try taking the test on a different device.

Steps to enable Camera

Steps to enable Microphone

  1. Click on Chrome at the top left of your screen and then click on Preferences.
  2. In the tab that opens up, type microphone at the top. You should see "1 result" under Site Settings. Click on Site Settings.
  3. You should now see the Microphone option highlighted. It may say Blocked or Ask Before Accessing below the Microphone text. Click on the option.
  4. Ensure that Internal Microphone is selected in the drop-down. If the toggle switch at the right is off, click on it so that the text changes from Blocked to "Ask before.."
  5. If you see equip.co under Block, click on the Delete icon at the right to unblock Equip.
  6. That 'sit! You have now allowed Equip to seek access to your Microphone. Click the Check Mic button below. When you get the prompt at the top, click on Allow.
  7. If you continue to get an error, look at the top right part of the address bar. You should see a mic with a cross icon on it. Click on it, and then click on the "Always allow.." option and then click on Done. Remember to click on the Check Mic button again.

Steps to enable Camera

  1. Click on Chrome at the top left of your screen and then click on Preferences.
  2. In the tab that opens up, type camera at the top. You should see "1 result" under Site Settings. Click on Site Settings.
  3. You should now see the Camera option highlighted. It may say Blocked or Ask Before Accessing below the Camera text. Click on the option.
  4. Ensure that FaceTime HD Camera or Internal Built-in Camera is selected in the drop-down. If the toggle switch at the right is off, click on it so that the text changes from Blocked to "Ask before.."
  5. If you see equip.co under Block, click on the Delete icon at the right to unblock Equip.
  6. That 's it! You have now allowed Equip to seek access to your Camera. Click the Check Camera button below. When you get the prompt at the top, click on Allow.
  7. If you continue to get an error, look at the top right part of the address bar. You should see a camera icon with a cross on it. Click on it, and then click on the "Always allow.." option and then click on Done. Remember to click on the Check Mic button again.

Steps to enable Microphone

  1. Click on Firefox at the top left of your screen and then click on Preferences.In the tab that opens up, type microphone at the top right. Then, click on Settings next to Microphone.

Steps to enable Microphone

  1. Click on Microsoft Edge at the top left of your screen and then click on Preferences.
  2. In the tab that opens up, type microphone at the top left search. You should see "1 result" under All permissions. Click on Microphone.
  3. Ensure that MacBook Air Microphone (Built-in) or Internal Microphone is selected in the drop-down. If the toggle switch at the right is off, click on it so that the text changes from Blocked to "Ask before.."
  4. If you see equip.co under Block, click on the Delete icon at the right to unblock Equip.
  5. That 's it! You have now allowed Equip to seek access to your Microphone. Click the Check Mic button below. When you get the prompt at the top, click on Allow.
  6. If you continue to get an error, look at the top right part of the address bar. You should see a mic with a cross icon on it. Click on it, and then click on the "Always allow.." option and then click on Done. Remember to click on the Check Mic button again.

Steps to enable Camera

Steps to enable Microphone

  1. Click the Check Mic button below and then click on Allow when “www.equip.co” prompts you for your microphone permission.
  2. If you get the prompt of Access Blocked (like in the screenshot below)
  3. Goto Home → Settings → Chrome, Tap the toggle button next to Microphone to turn it on.
  4. Go back to the browser (Step 1) and click on Check Mic button again.
    If you continue to get an error, restart your browser and try again.

Steps to enable Camera

  1. Click the Check Camera button below and then click on Allow when “www.equip.co” prompts you for your camera permission.
  2. If you get the prompt of Access Blocked (like in the screenshot below)
  3. Goto Home → Settings → Chrome, Tap the toggle button next to Camera to turn it on.
  4. Go back to the browser (Step 1) and click on Check Camera button again.
    If you continue to get an error, restart your browser and try again.
